Cabinet commends the efforts of government agencies in implementing reforms and improving business performance
JEDDAH — The Cabinet, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, on Tuesday afternoon at Al-Salam Palace, applauded the efforts of government agencies in implementing reforms and improving and developing the performance of businesses.
They commended these efforts which have enabled Saudi Arabia to move up eight positions among the most competitive economies in the world and obtain the second best performance in the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2022, published by the International Institute for Management Development. (IMD), based in Switzerland.
The Cabinet also commended the work of the National Competitiveness Center to improve and develop the competitive environment in Saudi Arabia and to raise its rank in relevant global indicators and reports.
The Cabinet said the Kingdom’s designation of eight individuals and 11 entities, for their association with the activities of the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia, embodies the continued determination to target those who have fueled the violence and danger to Yemen and its people, thereby destabilizing the region, threatening international shipping and prolonging human suffering.
He also reiterated Saudi Arabia’s affirmation, declared during its participation in the Major Economies Energy and Climate Forum (MEF), of its interest and commitment to cooperate with all partners in the global scale to fight climate change and achieve global goals of creating a better environment. for future generations.
At the start of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques informed the Cabinet of the contents of the letters he sent to Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik of the Sultanate of Oman; Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar; Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, and the letter he received from President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Cabinet referred to recent meetings and discussions that have taken place between senior Saudi officials and their counterparts in a number of countries, with the aim of expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
In the same context, she welcomed the results of the 13th session of the Moroccan-Saudi Joint Commission, as they reflected the common will to develop relations to meet the desired aspirations, and the common vision on regional and international issues. .
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Minister of State, Cabinet Member and Acting Media Minister Dr. Ibrahim Bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf said the Cabinet reiterated the content of the speech of Saudi Arabia delivered before the Human Rights Council, emphasizing its firm and united stand for Sudan and its people in all that contributes to its stability. Saudi Arabia also called on the international community to help lay the foundations for security and peace in Sudan.
The Council of Ministers authorized the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts to hold talks with the Chinese side regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the institute in Saudi Arabia and the Academy of Arts and Design of Tsinghua University in China for cooperation in the field of traditional arts.

He endorsed a cooperation agreement between the State Security Presidency of Saudi Arabia and each of the Kuwait State Security Bureau, the Bahrain National Security Agency and the General Directorate of the Djibouti National Police in the area of combating crimes and funds for terrorism.
The Cabinet has approved a license for the Bank of Jordan to open branches in Saudi Arabia to carry out banking activities while canceling the Social Benevolent Fund issued under Royal Decree No. (KH/41362) of 10/25 /1423 Hijri and revoking its regulations issued under Cabinet Decision No. (85) of 22/3/1431 Hijri, where all tasks, specializations, assets and employees of the fund are to be transferred to the Social Development Bank . — SPA
